Feb 6: Adelaide

After a sleepy morning we walked back into the city, this time thru the beautiful and well designed Botanic Gardens.

We stopped in the really quite interesting Museum of Economic Botany which showed all of the plant by their families.  Did you know that the apple is in the rose family? Almost made me want to sign up for a botany class…..almost.

We then walked another ½ mile thru the campus of the University of South Australia, into downtown and down to the Central Market.

After lunch we went to the Museum of South Australia…very modern with excellent collections of aboriginal pieces and also of the strange fauna of Oz.

Bring hot and thirsty by then, we wandered over to the Austral for a local brew on draught.

Then back for a quick look at the Art Museum of South Australia followed by a walk along the green space of the Torrens River back to the caravan park.

  1. Looks like lots of fun! The emus, museums, wineries, and pubs all are so very cool! How does the wine compare? All is well in Benicia and the dogs say hello :).
